Free Origami Crane Workshop April 11 – 1,000 Birds of Peace

Saturday April 11 at 1:30 p.m., artist Linda Stephen will teach how to
make an origami crane at a free public workshop in the Parish Hall
at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 6001 A St. The workshop will
include step by step instructions on how to fold paper to create a
crane, a bird that is an ancient symbol of peace and health.

Participants will add their cranes to the public art “1,000 Birds of Peace,” which will be
unveiled May 2 at the 5th annual Holy Trinity Arts Festival in Lincoln. The art represents
a prayerful longing for peace and involves more than 4,000 origami birds created by all
ages from throughout the community.
This workshop is designed for ages eight to 98. Materials will be provided. Children
should be accompanied by an adult.

Instructor: Linda Stephen has taught origami to thousands of people ages three to 97.
An award-winning artist, author and illustrator, she is fluent in Japanese and lived in
Japan for six years. Learn more at LindaStephen.com.
